Empowering Young Innovators: A Day of Creation at Young Tinker Space, @ Touch Orphanage,Hyderabad

Young Tinker Space Inspires Innovation at Touch Orphanage in Hyderabad

On October 4th, the Young Tinker team visited the Young Tinker Space (YTS) at Touch Orphanage in Mehbubnagar, Hyderabad. YTS is a collaborative workspace designed to inspire students to tinker, innovate, and create using a variety of tools and materials. These spaces provide a nurturing environment where creativity, hands-on learning, and technological innovation come to life, helping students develop critical problem-solving skills, technological literacy, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Empowering Innovation through Collaboration
The Young Tinker Space is more than just a makerspace—it’s a hub for innovation and lifelong learning. Here, students from all backgrounds come together to explore their ideas, collaborate with peers, and turn their concepts into reality. With a strong focus on fostering curiosity and encouraging collaboration, the YTS cultivates a passion for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

The event saw the participation of distinguished guests, including Shri JA Chowdary, Founder of the International Startup Foundation; Seetha Murty and Mr. Dhanunjaya from the Silver Oaks Group of Institutions; and the founders of Young Tinker, Mr. Anil Pradhan and Ms. Vaishali Sharma.

A Day of Creativity and Innovation
The students of the YTS enthusiastically welcomed the guests and led a tour of the space, showcasing the tools and equipment they use, such as 3D printers, robotics kits, electronics workstations, and even hand tools like drills. The space is equipped to support various innovative projects, and every student follows a structured learning process through their very own “Tinker Book,” which guides them through a year of hands-on learning experiences.

Shri JA Chowdary added an exciting challenge to the visit by presenting a problem statement to the students, encouraging them to design and 3D print a model. The students responded swiftly, using their 3D design skills to create a model and print it during the session, much to the admiration of the guests. Students also gifted Shri JA Chowdary a 3D Printed key ring with the guest’s name engraved on it.

Supporting Young Entrepreneurs
The Young Tinker Space is also a launching pad for young entrepreneurs. Five student startups from this YTS recently received seed funding of INR 1,000 each, enabling them to further develop their innovative ideas. These student entrepreneurs had the opportunity to pitch their startups to the guests, demonstrating the potential and creativity nurtured at YTS.

Shri JA Chowdary praised the students for their efforts and highlighted how learning through hands-on projects prepares them for future success. He expressed his appreciation for the space’s role in cultivating entrepreneurial skills and technological proficiency among young learners.
