On July 15th, something powerful took place at the GMRV Centre for Empowerment & Livelihoods, Delhi—not just the celebration of World Youth Skills Day, but the beginning of a journey. A journey with wheels, wires, and wonder.
We officially inaugurated our mobile AI-STEM lab, Tinker on Wheels (ToW) 2877A—our flagship initiative aimed at taking innovation to the farthest corners and underserved communities of India.
Knowledge Partner: Young Tinker Foundation, CSR Initiative of: Delhi Capitals, Operated by: GMR Varalakshmi Foundation
The event began at around 11:15 AM, as Ms. Kamaljeet Sehrawat (MP) along with other dignitaries arrived and were warmly welcomed by the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation team. Everyone soon gathered in the seminar hall, setting the stage for a day filled with ideas, collaboration, and inspiration.
The formal session kicked off with introductions, thoughtful speeches, and the distribution of certificates and placement letters to skilling students—a perfect nod to the occasion of World Youth Skills Day. Soon, all eyes turned toward the innovation waiting outside: the Tinker on Wheels(ToW) unit. The anticipation was real. And Then, the Green Flag was waved… Just outside the seminar hall, amidst a ceremonial tilak and enthusiastic applause, Tinker on Wheels (ToW) was officially flagged off by Chief Guest Ms. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, along with dignitaries including Mr. Arvind Khater (Delhi Capitals), Mr. Ashwini Saxena (CEO, GMRVF), Mr. K. Narayana Rao (Deputy MD, GMR Group), and Mr. Anil Pradhan (CEO, Young Tinker Foundation). With the green flag waved high, the Tinker on Wheels (ToW) stood proudly—ready to hit the road with circuits, curiosity, and boundless potential.
What people said
“Taking education—especially hands-on, practical learning—to underserved areas is not just noble, it’s essential.”
– Ms. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Chief Guest)
“What you’re doing is not just education—it’s empowerment. This mobile lab brings opportunity wherever it goes.”
– Mr. K. Narayana Rao (Deputy MD, GMR Group)
“With Tinker on Wheels, we’re turning playgrounds into innovation labs. Every child in a government school deserves the chance to build, break, and believe. In the heart of Delhi, we’re not just teaching STEM — we’re unlocking the spirit of invention.“
– Mr. Anil Pradhan (CEO and Founder, Young Tinker Foundation)
“This is how we make learning real—by making it move, by making it reach.”
– Mr. Ashwini Saxena (CEO, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation)
“Tinker on Wheels is a unique model that brings hands-on learning directly to students. Theoretical knowledge is easy to find, but real, practical exposure like this is rare and truly impactful.“
– Mr. Arvind Khater (Delhi Capitals)
The code 2877A carries a symbolic meaning. Each Tinker on Wheels (ToW) unit is assigned a unique identifier, where the first four digits represent the latitude and longitude of the region—in this case, Delhi—and the trailing letter indicates the sequence of ToW units operating in that area. The letter ‘A’ signifies that this is the first ToW unit launched in the Delhi region.
To mark this meaningful beginning, our founder Mr. Anil Pradhan presented a Welcome Package to Mr. Arvind Khater from Delhi Capitals, which included a miniature model of the ToW and a ‘Zero-Mile Marker’ board. This gesture symbolizes that our journey starts here in Delhi—with a vision to travel a million miles and bring a million smiles across the country.
