From Orphanage to pitching business at National Stage: Jagadish Wins TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs) Hyderabad Regional Finals

We’re thrilled to announce that Jagadish, a student from Young Tinker Space 1678 at Touch Orphanage, Mahbubnagar, Telangana, has emerged as a winner at the TYE Hyderabad 2025 Regional Finals as part of the student startup team “Familiar Faces”!

How it started ? Jagadish's 1st startup idea

Jagadish’s journey into entrepreneurship began through the Young Tinker curriculum, where every student is encouraged to build a startup that solves a real-world problem they see around them. His first venture, Pepro Bags, was co-founded with peers Anil and Srikanth. They created eco-friendly bags made from recycled newspapers with jute rope handles—an innovative response to the growing plastic pollution crisis. Their model focuses on supplying businesses with custom-printed newspaper bags, offering a sustainable and affordable alternative (INR 50 for 10 bags; INR 80 for 20 bags).

Recognized for his passion and problem-solving mindset, Jagadish was selected for the prestigious TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Program and received intensive mentoring from TiE Hyderabad. Under this program, his new team developed an app to support elderly Indians transitioning to life in the U.S., helping them navigate their new environment while staying rooted in their cultural identity. This project earned them a place at the TYE Global stage.

The 16th edition of the TYE Hyderabad Regional Finals was hosted by TiE Hyderabad at the Feuji Office in Gachibowli. The event brought together six teams from a mix of government and international schools, each presenting their startup ideas after completing three months of mentorship and one month of rigorous training. Jagadish stood out not only for his innovative ideas but also for his resilience and leadership.

Jagadish is a proud alumnus of the first graduating batch (2023) of YTS 1678, a Young Tinker Space established with the generous support of Shri Sidhartha Mohanty, a dedicated “Friend of Young Tinker.” The mission of this tinkerspace is to nurture critical thinking and creativity among underserved children through hands-on STEM learning.

TYE Hyderabad Regional Finals 2025: Celebrating Young Innovators

The 16th edition of the TYE Hyderabad Regional Finals was hosted at the Feuji Office, Gachibowli, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of high school students across Hyderabad. Six teams—from both government and international schools—presented their ideas after three months of mentorship and one month of intensive training.

Each team delivered elevator pitches, participated in Q&A rounds, and received valuable feedback from a panel of seasoned experts.

Now, as he continues his education at the Telangana Minority Residential Junior College, Jagadish is also giving back—mentoring younger students at the same orphanage through the Young Tinker curriculum. He now teaches STEM, 3D printing, electronics, coding, and entrepreneurship, inspiring the next generation of innovators.

A heartfelt thanks to TiE Hyderabad for creating such transformative opportunities for young minds. Their structured mentorship and training program is empowering students like Jagadish to become changemakers of tomorrow.
