Young Tinker Academy Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Young Tinker Space at Carmel Convent School, Ratanpur, Bhopal

In a momentous event, Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School in Ratanpur, Bhopal witnessed the grand opening of a cutting-edge Young Tinker Space on October 16-17, 2023. This pioneering initiative by Young Tinker Academy promises to revolutionize the learning experience for students, fostering creativity, innovation, and hands-on problem-solving skills.

The cofounders of Young Tinker Academy, Shri Anil Pradhan and Smt Vaishali Sharma, along with the education manager, Shri Abhishek Shukla, graced the occasion with their presence. The event commenced with a hands-on workshop on “Out of the Box Thinking” conducted by Shri Anil Pradhan in the school’s grand auditorium. Over 1500 students from grades 6-12 actively participated, delving into the world of creativity and unconventional problem-solving.

Shri Anil Pradhan, a changemaker in his own right, shared his inspirational journey with the students, igniting their passion to dream big and achieve beyond boundaries. The School Principal, Sister Rose Tom, expressed her pride in welcoming back alumni Shri Anil Pradhan and Shri Abhishek Shukla, recognizing their significant contributions to the field of education.

The newly inaugurated Tinker Space is a haven for innovation, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to nurture the budding inventors and thinkers of tomorrow. The space boasts three 3D printers, a range of electronics equipment, pegboards, tinker stations, soldering stations, and an array of hand tools. A standout feature is the Tinker Box, a tactile toolbox filled with essential components such as microcontrollers (Arduino), BO Motors, customized mounts, jumper wires, LEDs, traffic light LEDs, motor controllers, adapters, breadboards, and five other sensors. These Tinker Boxes are designed to empower students to undertake over a thousand projects, spanning from simple experiments to intricate inventions.


What sets this Tinker Space apart is the students’ active involvement in building and maintaining the facility. From assembling the tinker stations to drilling and fixing them on walls, and even putting up posters, every aspect is a collaborative effort driven by the students themselves. This hands-on approach instills a sense of ownership and responsibility, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.

The structured learning program at the Tinker Space spans four years and is tailored for students in grades 6-9. It focuses on honing essential skills such as problem-solving, design thinking, and critical analysis. This program is a testament to Young Tinker Academy’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of thriving in the ever-evolving landscape of the future.

This Tinker Space at Carmel Convent School, Ratanpur, Bhopal, marks the first of its kind by Young Tinker Academy in the city, symbolizing a giant leap towards promoting experiential learning and innovation in education.
